Located in the Kastel, the Osman-paša Resulbegović Mosque—also known locally as Pašina džamija or the New Mosque—is one of only three mosques from the Ottoman period still present in the old bazaar. Built in 1726 by order of Osman-paša Resulbegović, it features finely dressed stone and a stone minaret of octagonal shape reaching 16 meters high.

Sultan Ahmed Mosque

Also known as the Careva Mosque or the Old Mosque, the Sultan Ahmed Mosque sits close to the right bank of the Trebišnjica River. Built in 1719 on the orders of Osman-pasha Resulbegović and dedicated to Sultan Ahmed III, its design incorporates Mediterranean architectural ornaments crafted by masters from Dubrovnik.

Herzegovina Museum

Founded in 1952 on the initiative of Jovan Dučić, the Herzegovina Museum is the central regional museum institution of Eastern Herzegovina. Since 1988, it has been housed in a former barracks building at Stari Grad street number 59, covering around 1,500 square meters of space. Next to the museum, the ‘Kameny Svijet’ permanent exhibition displays a collection of semi-precious stones.

Arslanagić Bridge

The Arslanagić Bridge is one of the finest examples of Ottoman architecture in Bosnia and Herzegovina, spanning the Trebišnjica River. Officially protected as a National Monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2006, this elegant stone bridge was commissioned by the Grand Vizier Mehmed-paša Sokolović, with construction beginning in 1568 and opening in 1574. It stretches about 92 meters across the water and rises up to 15 meters above the river.

Hercegovačka Gračanica

Perched above the city, Hercegovačka Gračanica is a Serbian Orthodox monastery belonging to the Eparchy of Zahumlje-Herzegovina and the Coast. Its church is modeled after the famous Gračanica Monastery in Kosovo and Metohija, serving as a faithful copy and tribute to one of Serbia’s most celebrated medieval sacred buildings.
