The building measures 46 m long and 26 m wide, while its tower reaches almost 78 m, making it the tallest church tower in South Bohemia. Jordán

Just outside the centre lies Jordán, one of the Czech Republic’s oldest reservoirs, created in 1492 by damming the Košínský potok. It covers more than 51 hectares, with an earthen dam 20 m high and 284 m long that holds back roughly three million cubic metres of water. The deepest point is 12.5 m, and below the dam the Tismenický potok forms an 18‑metre waterfall known as the Jordánský vodopád. The reservoir also supplied drinking water and supported fish farming until the last full drawdown in 2011.

Kotnov

On Špitálské náměstí, just north of the main Žižkovo náměstí, this small square occupies the site of a former hospital. The hospital complex and its Baroque chapel, erected in 1718, form a unified ensemble. The chapel was originally dedicated to Saint Elizabeth, served the hospital and is now used by the Orthodox Church under the name Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.

Bridge over Jordán
