Segantini Museum

The Segantini Museum is dedicated to the work of the painter Giovanni Segantini. The building opened in the summer of 1908 and was completed in September of the same year.

Its most distinctive feature is the powerful dome, inspired by the pavilion Segantini had planned for his Engadine panorama at the 1900 World’s Fair in Paris. The architect Hartmann adapted the original concept by reducing the building’s size, adding extra floors, and using local quarry stone instead of an iron structure.

Berry Museum

The Berry Museum occupies a beautifully preserved historic villa and explores life in the Engadin valley through the history of the Berry family, who were prominent figures in the region. Its collection includes art, furniture, and everyday objects.

The Schiefer Turm, or Leaning Tower of St. Moritz, is one of the town’s most striking landmarks. Located in St. Moritz-Dorf, it is the last remaining part of the old St. Mauritius Church, which was demolished in 1893.

The tower dates from the 16th century. A landslide beneath the hill began shifting the ground toward the end of the 18th century, gradually causing the tower to tilt. Repeated stabilization efforts prevented it from toppling. According to the municipality of St. Moritz, the tower’s lean measured 5.5 degrees in 2021, making it one of the most strongly tilted towers in the world.

Chiesa di San Maurizio

The Chiesa di San Maurizio is the Catholic parish church of St Moritz in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. Together with the town’s Reformed churches, it reflects the variety of religious buildings found across St Moritz.

The weather made those Games particularly difficult. The opening ceremony took place in a blizzard, followed by unusually warm temperatures. No competitions could be held on February 15, and the schedule had to be rewritten. The 10,000-metre speed-skating event was ultimately abandoned and officially cancelled.
