Moab LDS Church
For a glimpse of Moab’s early community history, visit the historic Moab LDS Church. Built from adobe between 1888 and 1889 for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the building was designed in the Greek Revival style. Its adobe walls were later covered with stucco.
The land originally belonged to Leonidas L. Crapo. Local bishop Randolph H. Stewart acquired it in 1884 and later sold it to his second counselor, Orlando W. Warner. In 1925, the building was deeded to the Grand County School District, and by 1937 it was being used for meetings by the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. The church has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since November 28, 1980.
