Located on Wallace Avenue, the First United Methodist Church is a white‑brick landmark built in 1906 to designs by local architect George Williams. Its two towers of different heights and stepped gables of white pressed brick give it a distinctive silhouette. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and was constructed largely by volunteer labor; between 2022 and 2025 it housed the Coeur du Christ Academy.

St. Thomas Catholic Church

Founded in 1890 to serve Catholic miners and lumber workers, St. Thomas Catholic Church stands as an active parish of the Diocese of Boise. The current Romanesque Revival building dates from 1909, designed by Francis P. Rooney and Lewis P. Stritesky, with stained glass by G. C. Riordan and Company. Its bricks were sourced from Sandpoint, Idaho, and the sandstone arch from Tenino, Washington; the church has been on the National Register since October 5, 1977.
