The Panida Theater is a community theater whose name comes from “the Panhandle of Idaho”. It is pronounced to rhyme with “Canada”.
F. C. Weskil built the theater in 1927. It originally combined two roles: a vaudeville theater and a movie house. Today, the building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, making it an important part of Sandpoint’s local history.
